How To Relax A Perm Naturally Without Using Any Cosmetic Methods?

Perms give a wave to that naturally flat and straight hair. They add volume to the hair and are so much in. Perming makes your hair go through a lot of chemicals, though making it look volumized and good, it damages your hair. And using other chemicals to relax the curly perm is not a good idea. Here are some ways to relax a perm naturally:

Condition your hair naturally

I know your stylist might ask you to stay away from natural conditioners like hair oil but trust me it does not harm. Apply hot coconut oil to each strand of your damped hair and let it sit for a few hours. Shampoo your hair after about 3-4 hours.

Your hair will feel softer and more manageable. Aloe Vera pulp and yoghurt are some other natural conditioners you can give a try to. You can also use them all three combined as a hair mask to deep condition your hair.

Shower

Another thing your stylist may ask you to avoid is water for at least 48 hours after the treatment. If you feel your perms are too tight in comparison to your desired hair, wash them as you reach home. Water would break the bonds and shampoo would relax a perm that is too curly. Also, don’t forget to lightly condition your hair and let the conditioner sit for 10-15 minutes before you wash it off.

  • Comb

If you fear that a shower would add to frizz and take away your desired look, use a comb to detangle the tight perm. Use a wide-toothed comb to loosen the tight perm and relax them. Use your fingers to detangle the tight perm and relax them smoothly with your hand.

These were some natural ways to relax permed hair, but it’s not that you can’t use a blow dryer on your permed or styled hair. If your hair doesn’t feel right even after the natural ways, try to relax the tight perm using a blow dryer.

After using a shampoo and a light conditioner, air dry your hair for 10-15 minutes and use some heat protection spray so that heat doesn’t damage your hair and make it worse. Blow dry your hair lightly while detangling it with fingers (you can also use a comb, but fingers are more comfortable).

If you follow these after more than three days of the treatment, you might need to repeat them to get some results.
